DreamCloud has been quietly building a reputation in the hybrid mattress space, and the new PressureSmart™ collection is their most ambitious launch yet. We got our hands on the PressureSmart™ Firm — the entry point of the lineup — and put it through our full testing process.
The short version? This is a genuinely good firm mattress at a price point that’s hard to argue with. But it’s not for everyone. Let’s get into it.
What Is the DreamCloud PressureSmart™ Firm?

At $899 for a queen, this is in the “affordable luxury” category. Most comparable hybrids from Helix or Saatva land between $1,000–$1,500 at queen size.
What It's Like to Actually Sleep On
Let’s talk about what you’ll notice when you first lie down.
The firmness is real — but it’s not punishing. You stay on top of the surface rather than sinking in. There’s a thin layer of cushioning from the CloudCool™ top that keeps it from feeling like concrete, but make no mistake — this is a supportive, firm mattress.
The lumbar support actually works. Most firm mattresses are just… firm everywhere. The PressureSmart™ system has a reinforced support band through the middle third where your lower back and hips sit. DreamCloud says 75% more support foam vs their Classic Hybrid in that zone, and we believe it.
It sleeps cool. The CloudCool™ cover adds temperature regulation beyond what the hybrid coil airflow provides. DreamCloud claims 4x the cooling fibers vs their Classic. We can’t verify that number, but we didn’t wake up sweating.
Motion isolation is excellent for a firm bed. Up to 30% more individually-wrapped coils means your partner rolling over at 3 AM is way less likely to wake you up.Firmer edge coils around the perimeter give solid edge support.
Who Should Buy This Mattress
Back sleepers — this is your mattress. The lumbar support band combined with the firm surface keeps your spine in alignment without the “hammocking” effect.
Stomach sleepers — you need firm to keep your hips from diving down. TheCloudCool™ top gives just enough cushioning.
Couples — impressive motion isolation for a firm hybrid. Reinforced edge coils mean you’re both getting your full share.
Hot sleepers — between coil airflow and the cooling cover, this runs noticeably cooler than most beds at this price.
Who Should Look Elsewhere

Our Verdict
The DreamCloud PressureSmart™ Firm does something surprisingly hard to find: it’s a firm mattress that’s actually smart about where it’s firm. The lumbar support band is a real differentiator. For back sleepers especially, it makes a noticeable difference in how your lower back feels in the morning.
