This table tells you about all the key features of both Nectar vs Sleep Number. But below, we unpack more and give you an in-depth review.

Nectar vs Sleep Number: Mattress Construction

The Nectar mattress has 5 layers, whereas the Sleep Number C2 comes with 4. While Sleep Number claims to help you sleep smart, Nectar focuses on engineering the best mattress without any gimmicks.

Materials and Construction:

The Nectar mattress has a breathable cooling layer that offers a refreshing rest. It also wicks away any excess heat from the body to keep you cool. Sleep Number comes with a poly-cotton blend that can feel stretchy over the mattress. The second layer of the Nectar mattress is two inches of CertiPUR-US Certified gel memory foam contours to your every curve. This layer offers pressure point relief and prevents any aches and pain. The second layer of the Sleep Number comes with a foam that’s made of polyethylene blend, aka the mysterious foam. Well, the use of this layer, too, remains a mystery. The third layer of the Nectar mattress comes with three inches of conventional CertiPUR-US Certified foam that provides support while allowing airflow, plus crucial rebound and bounce. This is crucial for proper spinal alignment. However, the third layer of Sleep Number is of adjustable air chambers. They inflate or deflate as per your density. While it looks like Sleep Number was going for innovation, there are chances that it may end up feeling like a camping mattress! The final two layers of the Nectar mattress provide durability and stability and ensure all the layers give their optimal performance. It also prevents any slips and keeps the mattress in place. The Sleep Number has foam in its base layer.

Firmness:

The firmness of a Nectar mattress is 6.5, which is medium-firm, whereas Sleep Number says that it’s adjustable firmness and you must control your comfort with the help of an intelligent device.

Thickness:

The Nectar mattress offers plush 12 inches, whereas Sleep Number offers 8 inches. The thicker the mattress, the higher the durability.

Nectar vs Sleep Number: Buyers Reviews

Nectar Review

My fiance’s back had been hurting for months in our old bed. After reading so many of Nectar’s positive reviews, we purchased the mattress and love it! We’ve had the mattress for a couple of months and he hasn’t had one night of pain! Great night’s sleep!

The mattress has relieved hip and shoulder pain. It is a medium-soft mattress that provides good support. I would recommend a King size for couples but the mattress provides good motion isolation. Great mattress and good value. Two months in. We’ll see how the quality is in a year.

My sleep number bed never quite worked for me. We tried the Nectar and love it. Took my body a week to recover from all the damage over the years but I could tell after the first night it was going to get better. Also as an added bonus my husband doesn’t snore anymore!!!!

Sleep Number Review

I bought it maybe 2 years ago. I’ve slept on my couch ever since! Always waking up in excruciating pain. It was my first time buying a brand new mattress! It hurt my feelings and I was too poor and ashamed to try and return it 😭 Having to buy a special base was an added embarrassment that I hadn’t done adequate research on my purchase! I wish I knew how to decide what matters is the best. Bottom line though, if I had known this was an Air mattress, I wouldn’t have bothered.
